  4.       How to use the Minerva Software Text Reader

  8. This text reader has been written for easy browsing  of
  9. Minerva  help  files.  To  use it, you can click on the
  10. icons to the right.  The ⇧ and ⇩ icons  will  move  you
  11. through the text one page at a time. The ⇨ icons select
  12. 'index points' and  any which have text beside them may
  13. be clicked to jump directly to the indicated page.

  15. The text may be printed out by clicking  on  the  PRINT
  16. icon.  While printing takes place, you may interrupt it
  17. by pressing [ESCAPE].

  19. When you have finished with the  Text  Reader  utility,
  20. click the ☓ icon to close the window and exit.

  22. About Flasher

  24. *>Flasher
  25. Flasher will  increase  productivity  when  using  your
  26. Archimedes  to  run  any  DeskTop program by making the
  27. caret flash so that it can be located more quickly by a
  28. single glance at the screen; studies in the  past  have
  29. shown  that a flashing cursor can increase the speed of
  30. normal data entry by as much as 40%. In cases where the
  31. caret can still  not  be  located  (eg.  it  is  behind
  32. another  window), you can click SELECT over the Flasher 
  33. icon on the icon bar to find it wherever it is (try  it
  34. and see!).

  40. Using Flasher

  42. *>Using
  43. While Flasher is running, you may click on its icon bar
  44. icon to locate the caret. This will send a  message  to
  45. the window containing the caret, asking it to scroll so
  46. that  the caret is in the centre of the window and jump
  47. to the foreground. The pointer will then be  positioned
  48. over  the caret. Note that some tasks are not correctly
  49. written and will therefore not respond to this  message
  50. in a sensible fashion. In this case (eg. 1stWord+), you
  51. should  click  MENU on flasher and disable Scroll. Note
  52. that the menu also allows you to turn flashing  on  and
  53. off  and also has a Find option; this locates the caret
  54. in the same way as clicking on the iconbar icon. If the
  55. caret is not currently displayed, the Find option  will
  56. be shaded out and the iconbar icon will yield a bleep.
